Bookshop
Bookshop.org is an online bookseller set up to put money back into independent bookshops. Its UK site opened in November 2020. It trades here as Bookshoppe Limited and is a certified B Corporation. Part of every purchase goes to the indie trade, and you can choose to back one particular shop. More than 600 UK bookshops take part. The catalogue spans fiction, non-fiction and children's books.

About Bookshop
How the money is shared
When you buy, a share of the price goes to independent bookshops. You can browse a specific shop's storefront to send support straight to it, or let your purchase help the whole group. Bookshop.org has no shops of its own.
Finding books
Search by category or author, or browse a favourite bookshop's picks. New releases, bestsellers and classics sit side by side. Genres include crime, romance, history, science fiction and biography, plus a children's section.
Before you order
UK delivery is available on every order, with standard and express choices, and it is carbon neutral. Orders do not go abroad. Unused items can be returned within 30 days after contacting customer service. Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Apple Pay are accepted, but gift cards are not sold. Support works by email only, with no phone line. NHS staff get a discount, and Armed Forces veterans and reservists can find offers through nhsDiscounts.org.uk. The Bookloop scheme takes pre-owned books in exchange for store credit.

Yes. Each shop has its own storefront on the site, so buying through it directs support to that business. Otherwise, a share goes to independents generally.
How long do I have to return a book?
Unused items can be sent back within 30 days. Contact customer service first to get the return process started.
Can I phone Bookshop.org?
There is no phone number for customer service. Support is handled by email instead, and replies often arrive within hours.
What is Bookloop?
Bookloop by Bookshop.org lets you hand over pre-owned books in exchange for store credit. It keeps books in circulation instead of gathering dust.
Which payment methods work?
Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Apple Pay are all accepted at checkout. Gift cards are not available.
