Founded in 1970 in Oswestry and now based in Deeside, Wales, it has been fully owned by a British family again since 2020. About Iceland
Filling the basket
Frozen ready meals, pizzas, vegetables and desserts are still the backbone. Alongside them you will find fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, dairy, bakery and store cupboard lines, plus pet food, toiletries and beauty buys, and household cleaning supplies. Larger families may also like The Food Warehouse, Iceland's bigger-format stores selling larger pack sizes.
Delivery and collection
Online orders over £40 are delivered free, and same-day delivery runs in selected areas. Click and collect is also available. At checkout Iceland takes PayPal and Visa, Mastercard or American Express cards. For returns, keep your receipt; report faulty or damaged goods to customer service on 0800 328 0800 or at [email protected].
Making the budget stretch
The Bonus Card lets you load money in store and builds up a £1 reward for every £20 spent there. Students can verify through Student Beans or UNiDAYS, and NHS and armed forces workers can use schemes such as the Blue Light Card. Gift cards are sold, though Iceland does not price match. The company has pledged to remove plastic from own-label packaging and to move to cage-free eggs by 2027.
Sustainability at Iceland
Committed to removing plastic from own-label packaging and sourcing responsibly. Working on cage-free eggs commitment by 2027.
