Background worth knowing
Cousins Chris and Ben Whittles started the company on a Shropshire farm. It says it was first in the UK with high-energy and no-mess foods, sunflower hearts and nyjer seed. By its own count, more than 80 bird species now visit garden feeders, against 18 when it began. It also reports giving £1 million a year to nature projects.
