About Contempo
What's on the shelves
Homeware takes up a large part of the shop. Expect kitchen timers, dinnerware, night lights and decorative pieces for a shelf or mantelpiece, plus quirky extras like bottle openers and stationery.
Bags and accessories run from totes and saddle bags to necklaces and keyrings, including Harris Tweed items. For little ones there are Jellycat toys, children's clothing and small accessories. Cat owners will find pet bowls, and a selection of greeting cards covers most occasions.
Who it suits
Contempo works well for birthday and housewarming presents, or a small treat for yourself. The shop has won awards as an independent retailer, and its buying leans towards distinctive design rather than high-street staples. If choosing feels risky, a Contempo gift card lets the recipient pick.
