About Butternut Box
What's in the box
Meals are gently cooked rather than processed into kibble, using ingredients fit for people to eat. Recipes suit every life stage, from puppies to older dogs, and each is a complete diet on its own. The company taste-tests its recipes and points to benefits for digestion and coat condition.
How the subscription runs
You answer questions about your dog, and the plan is tailored to match. Plans are managed in your online account, where you can swap recipes, change delivery dates or pause. Most of the UK can take deliveries on any day of the week. Some areas, including parts of Scotland, have fewer delivery days. The first trial box ships free; standard delivery fees apply after that.
Good to know
Because the food is perishable, it cannot be sent back. Should your dog turn its nose up at a recipe, the suggestion is to donate the meals to a local shelter or a friend. The Customer Love team answers by phone and email. There is a Refer a Friend programme but no loyalty scheme. Butternut Box is a certified B Corporation and sends zero waste to landfill. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal.
Sustainability at Butternut Box
Butternut Box is committed to sustainability, operating with zero waste to landfill and utilising heat recovery systems to reduce carbon emissions. They have also achieved B Corporation certification, reflecting their dedication to social and environmental responsibility.
