Tamara Mayne, a designer, began Brooklyn Candle Studio on Etsy in 2013, and the business has grown into an independent New York candle maker. Everything is now poured and labelled by hand in a large workshop at Industry City, Sunset Park. What goes in them
The wax is 100% soy, made from soybeans grown in America, and the wicks are lead-free cotton. The brand calls its products vegan and cruelty-free, with no phthalates or petroleum. No preservatives go in, so it suggests using each candle within a year.
Ordering from the UK
Orders usually leave the workshop 1 to 3 business days after purchase. UK parcels travel by DHL, and the checkout price already covers duties and taxes. Delivery usually takes 7 to 10 business days from dispatch. Free shipping applies to US orders over a set amount, so expect to pay for UK delivery. Unused items still in their packaging can go back within 14 days of arrival. The refund or store credit has shipping and handling deducted. A used candle that disappoints can be exchanged for credit only.
