About Alamy
Finding the right image
The library splits into three areas. Creative covers fresh, general-purpose visuals. Editorial brings news, sport and entertainment coverage, while Archives holds historical events and well-known figures. Beyond still photos there is 4K and HD footage, 360-degree panoramas and EPS files ready for Illustrator. Filters for size, resolution and category narrow a search quickly.
Licences and business use
Licence types include editorial, commercial and rights-managed, and each permits different uses. Read the terms for your project before you download. Larger organisations can arrange custom licences and high-resolution files through Alamy's enterprise service, and developers can connect through its API.
Buying and support
Downloads are instant. If a file has a problem, contact customer service within seven days. The team works Monday to Friday and can help with licensing questions. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal are accepted. Photographers can also sell through Alamy, and student contributors keep all their commission for their first two years.
