About The String King

Strings first

Players can pick from familiar sets such as Pirastro Tonica and Obligato, D'Addario Helicore and Larsen Aurora. By its own account, the shop has almost every serious violin and cello string on the British market. A string FAQ on the site helps anyone unsure which set to try next.

Beyond strings

- Bows for each of the four instruments, starting at student level and going up to professional Finkel and Musing models

- Rosin, shoulder rests and bridges, plus metronomes, teaching aids and cleaning cloths

- BAM cases, covering guitar, brass and woodwind as well as the orchestral strings

- Instrument outfits for beginners through to advanced players

- Oldwood varnishes and oils for finishing work
