Stan Ray began in 1972, when Earl Beard set up a workwear business in Crockett, Texas. The family still owns it, and Larry Beard, Earl's son, looks after the original factory. Its online store charges UK buyers in pounds and sends parcels by DHL. Expect sturdy, utilitarian clothing with a long working history behind it.

About Stan Ray
The range
Trousers lead the range, from double knee work pants and painter pants to OG-107 fatigues, jeans and shorts. Tops include tees, hoods, sweats, CPO shirts and zip shirts, with coverall jackets as outer layers. Aprons, caps and bags complete it. Look out for hickory stripe, natural drill and camo fabrics. A Made in USA line covers the core trousers and jackets, while some newer items are produced overseas.
UK delivery
DHL handles UK parcels. The economy service is £4.00 and arrives in two to four days. Next-day express is £8.00 if you order before noon. Spend over £100 and delivery is free.
Returns and help
You have 30 days from receiving an order to register a return. Pieces must come back unworn, clean and without marks. Sending a UK return costs £2.95, deducted from the refund, and refunds go through within two working days of the parcel arriving. Exchanges are possible, but not on reduced items.
