"You can feel the tightness in the tannins here. Light smokiness, light meantiness. Bitter oranges." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 16.5 ++ Tasting note: This Spätburgunder Grand Cru has intense aromas of fully ripe sweet cherries, dark berries and violets in the nose. Very full bodies and concentrated on the palate, warm and smooth with an immerse depth. A well balanced velvety tannin structure carries the fruit. Long lasting finish with hints of cloves and cinnamon. An excellent example for the vintage 2018. Character: The grapes used for this wine originate from the Igringer Winklerberg Which is recognised as the warmest vineyard site in Germany. Due to strict reduction of yields, the distinctive terroir character, and the unique micro climate, this wine meets the highest requirements in the way as it is common for " Grand Cry: appellations in France. After traditional fermentation on the skins, this wine had been aged for 18 months in barriques to refine its character. Food recommendation: A perfect partner for sophisticated meat dishes, especially when herbs or roast aromas play a major role. Equally good with game and various types of savoury cheeses. Drinking temperature: 18 - 20 Celsius Soil: Weathered volcanic rock. Ageing: 18 months on barrique barrels Alcohol: 13,5% vol. Res. sugar: 0,4 g/l Acidity: 5,8 g/l
