2012 Old Sauternes Cask Speyside Whisky

70cl / 59.8% / Distillery Bottling - Single cask releases from Glenallachie are always worth noting, showing snapshots of the distillery’s deep commitment to sourcing barrels of the highest quality (and sometimes most unusual woods). In this case, the bottling is entirely drawn from sauternes cask #805561, and the dessert wine’s kinship with Glenallachie’s Speyside character is obvious as the two dovetail to present fresh apricot and apple with honeycomb, joined by warm spices, caramel, poached pears and heather honey.
