Miele
Miele is the family-owned German appliance maker, founded in 1899 and still based in Gütersloh. It builds washing machines, tumble dryers, ovens, hobs, dishwashers, fridges, coffee machines and vacuum cleaners, all designed to last around 20 years. Prices sit at the premium end, so buyers tend to be people who would rather replace an appliance once. In the UK it sells online and through Experience Centres.
About Miele
Appliances by room
In the kitchen, Miele covers ovens, steam ovens, induction hobs, integrated dishwashers, refrigerators and built-in coffee machines. Laundry means washing machines and tumble dryers built to look after clothes. Floor care spans upright, cylinder and robot vacuum cleaners. There is commercial equipment too, for businesses with heavier daily use.
Seeing them in person
The Miele Experience Centres, including ones in London, Edinburgh and Cambridge, let you see appliances working before you commit. An outlet store in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, sells ex-display products that keep the full warranty. Click and collect is available, and the free Miele Club loyalty scheme shares news and member benefits. Students get a discount on accessories and cleaning products through Student Beans, and NHS staff and armed forces veterans can save on selected appliances.
Delivery, fitting and cover
You pick a delivery date at checkout and get a text the day before with a morning or afternoon slot. Vacuum cleaners arrive in two to five working days. Installation can be booked with the order, including disconnecting and recycling the old machine. Every appliance has a two-year manufacturer warranty, with extended cover through Domestic & General, and change-of-mind returns run for 14 days. Payment options are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and finance. Miele delivers within the UK only and does not sell gift cards.
