About MAIKA

MAIKA is a bag and accessories label founded by designer Viola Sutanto, who holds a business degree from UC Berkeley's Haas School and trained in design at the California College of the Arts. Its studio in Oakland, California, hand-paints or illustrates every pattern, the bags use recycled canvas, and orders are packed by GHE Fulfillment in Lyons, Illinois. What MAIKA sells Tote bags in several cuts: Essential, Commuter, Project, Carryall and Market totes, plus Loop totes and Lunch + Pie bags Crossbody bags, fanny packs and backpacks Small accessories such as zip pouches, cardholder wallets, Mini Cube key rings and wine totes Tea towels, greeting cards from the MAIKA x Pioneer Square Press collection, and e-gift cards Product pages list a similar build for most bags: recycled canvas, vegan leather trim, pigment inks and a waterproof lining, with an interior strap that clips to MAIKA pouches or a set of keys. Bags carry a one-year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. The name means "dancing flower", and Sutanto's own site says the brand has grown to more than 1,000 retailers, corporate partners and experiential programmes. Delivery and returns UK shoppers see prices in pounds, and parcels travel from the US on one international standard service priced at checkout by order size. Quotes ranged from £18 for a single greeting card to £27 for one Essential Tote, £50 for one Carryall Tote and £75 for three (checked October 2026). The shipping policy says orders leave within 2 to 3 business days by UPS or USPS, international parcels take 6 to 10 business days, and any import duties or customs fees are charged on arrival. Unopened goods in their original condition, and faulty products, can go back within 30 days of the order arriving. Shoppers email [email protected] to get approval first, then post the parcel prepaid to the Illinois warehouse; refunds cover the item price and taxes but never the shipping charge. Reduced-price items cannot be returned or exchanged, and anything returned after the 30 days is credited as a gift card instead.
