About Hug Rug

What's on offer

Rugs, runners and doormats that can be washed form the backbone, including a printed eco-washable line. Doormats for inside and out come in coir, cotton or recycled fibre, and some carry pet or charity prints. Bigger rugs use sheepskin, jute, wool, viscose, sisal or recycled PET, in round shapes and sizes up to extra-large. Bath mats come in bamboo, recycled cotton or recycled polyester.

Partner ranges bring patterns from Herdy, Scion, Sophie Allport, Graham & Brown, Morris & Co. and Highgrove by Sanderson. Own-label pieces are guaranteed for five years.

The recycling story

Hug Rug's own figures put its yearly intake at 4.8 million old cotton garments and 11.4 million plastic bottles. Another 147 tonnes of industrial plastic waste goes in too. ECONYL regenerated nylon, which starts out as waste like discarded fishing nets, goes into the outdoor range. The parent company, Phoenox Textiles, is a family firm dating from 1954.

Delivery and returns

Mainland UK orders arrive in 3 to 5 working days for £5.95, and go free above £75. Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Scottish Highlands and Islands pay £20, or £15 over £75.

Unwanted items can go back within 30 days, repacked in their original packaging. Send them at your own cost, or pay £13.50 for a collection. Parcels wider than a metre cannot use ordinary drop-off points.

Sustainability at Hug Rug

Hug Rug says it reuses about 11.4 million plastic bottles, 4.8 million cotton garments and 147 tonnes of industrial plastic waste a year; its outdoor range uses ECONYL regenerated nylon.
