Hairetic
Hairetic is a small British brand with one job: tackling dandruff on sensitive scalps. Based in Haslemere, Surrey, it sells three 250ml products from its own website: shampoo, conditioner and a 2-in-1 that does both. Founder Andrew Rayner worked in health and beauty for close to 20 years, with Head & Shoulders among the brands he worked on.

About Hairetic
Three bottles, one problem
The line-up is short. The Anti-Dandruff Sensitive Shampoo does the main work, backed by a matching conditioner. The 2-in-1 suits anyone who wants a single bottle. Aloe vera goes into the formula, which Hairetic calls extra-mild. It has been tested by dermatologists on sensitive skin. Cruelty Free International and The Vegan Society have both approved the range.
Learn before you lather
The website has explainers on common anti-dandruff ingredients, including ketoconazole, selenium sulphide, salicylic acid and piroctone olamine. That is handy for anyone comparing labels, or wondering why one shampoo suits them better than another.
Delivery and returns
Only UK addresses are served. The brand points to rules on anti-dandruff claims as the reason it does not ship to Europe or beyond. Postage is free once an order passes £10; below that it costs £4. Evri or Royal Mail carry the parcels. Hairetic aims to send orders out within a working day, so leave 3 to 5 working days for arrival.
Want to send something back? Email [email protected] within 30 days of it arriving. Items should come back unused, in the packaging they arrived in. After approval, expect the refund on your original card or account within 10 business days. If something arrives damaged or wrong, tell Hairetic immediately.
Sustainability at Hairetic
Approved by The Vegan Society and Cruelty Free International, according to Hairetic.
