About Garden Wildlife Direct
Food and kit for garden birds
Seed mixes are the backbone, with single-seed options for anyone who prefers to offer one thing at a time. Peanuts, fat balls, suet and sunflower hearts cover the high-energy end. To serve it all there are feeders, bird houses and bird baths, and the shop also stocks poultry feed for backyard hens. Larger quantities attract bulk buying discounts, which helps if you keep several feeders topped up.
How the food is checked
Each product goes through three checks, and peanuts are tested for aflatoxin. Stock comes from independent UK suppliers, often farmers holding Fair Nature accreditation, and food is produced in regular batches so it stays fresh.
Delivery, returns and packaging
Orders over £40 travel free within the UK, carried by DPD. There is no overseas delivery. Unopened items can be sent back within 14 days. Packaging is fully recyclable and contains at least 30% recycled plastic, and customers are encouraged to reuse the polypropylene hessian bags. The website runs on carbon-neutral hosting. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard or PayPal, and students can verify through Student Beans for a discount.
Sustainability at Garden Wildlife Direct
Garden Wildlife Direct is passionate about being environmentally conscious. All packaging is 100% recyclable, made from a minimum of 30% recycled plastic, with efforts to increase this. They encourage reuse of polypropylene hessian bags. They use DPD, "The UK’s Greenest Carrier", for deliveries and operate with carbon-neutral web hosting, harnessing renewable energy. They aim for ethical, transparent, and responsible practices to minimise their environmental impact and carbon footprint.
