Blue John Gallery

Blue John Gallery is a Derbyshire jeweller built around one local material. Blue John is a rare banded fluorite with blue, purple and yellow tones, found only around Castleton. Alongside that signature stone, it sells rings, pendants, earrings, necklaces and bracelets set with diamonds, sapphires and rubies, plus gold and silver designs. The gallery belongs to the C W Sellors Fine Jewellery family. Its first boutique opened in Bakewell in 1985.

About Blue John Gallery

Why people come for Blue John

The stone is found only in a small corner of the Peak District, so pieces are hard to find elsewhere. Each one shows its own banding, which means no two pendants or rings look quite alike. That suits gift buyers wanting something with a Derbyshire link, or anyone who likes unusual gemstones.

Beyond the signature stone

The range also covers more traditional fine jewellery. Look for diamond rings, including engagement styles, and pieces set with sapphires and rubies. Gold and silver designs fill out the collection. Work is made to the standards of C W Sellors, a jewellery business whose story began in 1979.

Ordering and returns

UK delivery is free on every order, and items arrive packed in gift boxes. Shipping abroad is also offered. Returns are accepted within 14 days, provided the piece is unworn and still in its original condition and packaging. Payment options are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal. Gift cards are not sold. NHS and healthcare workers, and members of the armed forces, can contact the gallery to ask about keyworker savings. There is no student or loyalty scheme.
