Berghaus
Climbers Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison started Berghaus in 1966, and the British outdoor brand is now headquartered in Sunderland. It makes waterproof jackets, insulated coats, fleeces, walking boots and rucksacks for men, women and children. The kit is designed for hills and mountains, but plenty of it works for everyday wet weather.

Layers for British weather
Waterproof jackets are the headline products, many using Gore-Tex for waterproofing and breathability. For warmth, there are insulated coats with Berghaus's own Hydrodown insulation, fleeces and base layers. Softshell jackets and walking trousers fill the gaps between seasons, and the clothing comes in men's, women's and children's sizes.
Boots and packs
