What the socks are made of
Each pair is about two thirds bamboo viscose, topped up with cotton, elastane and polyamide. The yarn is coloured with non-toxic dyes, and production takes place in a family-run factory in Turkey that pays fair wages. Bamboo fibre wicks moisture, breathes well and is warmer than ordinary cotton. The brand compares its softness to cashmere but says the socks last longer.
Where the money goes
Donations are spread across more than 30 wildlife charities, each matched to an animal design. The brand reports protecting 1,200 acres of rainforest, planting wildflower seeds for bees and releasing 4,300 baby turtles. Owl and llama designs sit alongside many others, so picking a pair can also mean picking a cause.
