About Avanti West Coast

Routes and stations

Trains head north from London Euston, calling at places such as Crewe and Lancaster, and also serve North Wales and Scotland. The company manages 16 stations, and several big Network Rail stations have Avanti ticket offices, so buying in person is still possible.

Buying tickets

Book through the website or the app and your e-ticket arrives straight away by email or in the app. Railcards from the National Rail range work on Avanti trains, among them the 16-25, Senior, Two Together and Family & Friends cards. NHS staff can get special fares on selected services. Refund rules depend on the ticket type, and Advance tickets may be exchangeable, so read the conditions before you pay. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and Apple Pay are accepted.

On board and after the trip

First Class brings bigger seats, quieter carriages and service at your seat, with food and drink included. In standard, food and drink can be bought on board. Club Avanti, the loyalty scheme, gives frequent travellers perks such as free hot drinks and free journeys. If a train runs late, compensation details are published, and customer service is open seven days a week.

Sustainability at Avanti West Coast

Investing in more fuel-efficient trains. New bi-mode fleet reduces environmental impact on non-electrified routes.
