About Alfa Holidays

Alfa Holidays is a coach holiday operator run from Alfa House in Buckshaw Village, Chorley, Lancashire. Its trading company, Alfa Holidays Ltd (Companies House 02326610), was incorporated in December 1988, became Alfa Travel Ltd in April 1990 and took its present name early in 2026. The business belongs to the Alfa Holiday Group, which its about page says has been employee owned for over ten years. What Alfa Holidays sells Coach holidays with pick-ups from local points, searchable through a Pickup Finder on the site Self-drive hotel breaks that include coach excursions, and hotel-only stays Festive, weekend, rail and special-event trips, Royal Breaks, mystery breaks and group bookings Trips cover English regions from the North East and Yorkshire down to the South West, as well as Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Jersey. Many itineraries stay in the group's own properties: the about page counts 25 Alfa Hotels, previously branded Leisureplex Hotels, among them the Royal Hotel in Weymouth, the Norfolk Royale in Bournemouth, the Derwentwater in Keswick and the Selborne in Dunoon. The same page puts the coach fleet at 70 vehicles. The group traces its roots to a hotel business that brothers Tony and Peter Sawbridge started in 1984 to host coach parties. Booking, tickets and cancellations The booking conditions ask for a non-refundable £50 per person deposit, with the balance due 42 days before departure. Travel tickets come by post roughly 7 to 10 days ahead of the trip. Each traveller may bring one medium suitcase up to 20kg and 69 x 28 x 46cm, and anything heavier costs £5 per extra kilogram, paid at the hotel. Buying the Peace of Mind Guarantee or holding travel insurance is a condition of the contract. Cancelling more than 43 days out forfeits the deposit. Closer to departure the charge is 40% of the holiday cost at 29 to 42 days, 55% at 15 to 28 days, 75% at 8 to 14 days and the full cost inside 8 days. Each amendment costs £20 per person, or £40 within 42 days of travel. Payments for direct bookings are protected by Bonded Coach Holidays and ABTOT and held by an independent trustee until the holiday ends.
