Yoto
Yoto makes screen-free audio players that let children choose their own stories, music and podcasts by slotting in a physical card. Ben and Filip, two fathers, started the London company in 2015. It suits parents who want to cut screen time without taking away independent play, at bedtime or on long journeys.

About Yoto
Players and cards
There are two players. The Yoto Player is the larger, original model and tends to live at home, while the Yoto Mini is smaller and made for travel. Both use the same cards, so a collection works on either.
Cards carry audiobooks, plus music, podcasts, child-safe radio, sound effects and learning activities. Yoto Originals are exclusive to the brand. Make Your Own cards let families record their own stories or upload audio. Everything is ad-free, and content can be downloaded to play offline.
Ordering and delivery
UK delivery is free on orders over £25, and an express service is available. Yoto also ships internationally. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal.
Extras worth knowing
Gift cards make it easy to buy for a family that already owns a player. My Yoto Points rewards purchases and activity. Students can get a discount via Student Beans, while NHS staff and the military have their own schemes. Help comes by email to [email protected] or by live chat on the site.

Yoto FAQs
Which Yoto player should I buy for travel?
The Yoto Mini is the compact, portable model, so it suits car journeys and holidays. It plays the same cards as the bigger Yoto Player.
Can a Yoto player work without an internet connection?
Yes, once content is downloaded. Yoto content can be stored and played offline, which helps on flights or in places without a signal.
How much does Yoto charge for UK delivery?
Nothing on orders over £25. Express delivery is available too if you need a player quickly, for example before a birthday.
Can I return a Yoto player?
Yes, within 30 days, as long as the item is unused and still in its original packaging.
