The Dressing Room
The Dressing Room is an independent womenswear boutique on the High Street in St Albans, opened by Deryane Tadd in May 2005. She still buys every collection herself. Shoppers can visit in person or order online. The mix draws on British, Parisian, Scandinavian and LA labels, with denim and accessories alongside clothing. Styling help is part of the appeal.

About The Dressing Room
Labels you'll recognise
Names on the rails include Day Birger et Mikkelsen, Fabienne Chapot, Munthe, Minus Fashion and Ba&sh. Denim comes from Citizens of Humanity and Paige. The shop is also the only UK stockist of Mosj Atelier, which makes distinctive bags. Pieces range from workwear and weekend outfits to occasion dressing.
Styling help
A trained team of stylists works in the shop. Book the free Style by Appointment service if you want one-to-one help building outfits, perhaps for an event. You can also browse at your own pace. Deryane Tadd has described the shop as a mini department store, and stock runs from everyday basics to statement pieces.
Ordering and returns
Standard UK delivery is free on orders over £50, and smaller orders carry a charge. The Dressing Room does not ship abroad. Returns are accepted, but you pay the return postage yourself, so check sizes carefully. Online orders can be paid for by Visa, Mastercard or PayPal. Gift cards are available, and a loyalty points programme rewards repeat customers.
