About Starlight Beds

Mattress types and sizes

Open coil models run from basic guest-room and contract mattresses to quilted cool-touch designs. Above those sit pocket sprung, memory foam and hybrid mattresses that pair springs with foam, some with a pillowtop. The numbered Starlight 1 to 5 series arrived in 2021, and Starlight Babies cot mattresses followed in 2024. Twelve separate mattress models make up the collection.

The smallest UK size is a 2ft6 shorty measuring 75 by 175 cm. At the other end sits a 5ft king at 150 by 200 cm. European sizes are made as well, topping out at 160 by 200 cm.

Delivery and returns at a glance

Standard UK delivery costs nothing and arrives within 3 to 7 days. A £15 rate applies to parcels weighing between 32 and 35 kg, which take 2 to 4 days. Isle of Man orders also travel free, though they can take up to 17 days.

For a mattress, give notice within 14 days of delivery, then send it back within another 14. Keep the plastic hygiene seal intact: once it is broken, the mattress counts as used and is refunded only if faulty. Bed bases and ottomans need the same 14-day notice and must be in their original condition. Return costs are the buyer's, and a collection booked through Starlight Beds comes off the refund. Refunds are paid inside 14 days once the item is back.

Good to know

The company became part of The Sleep People in 2014, moving to a bigger factory that year. The phone line, 01924 600683, is open 9am to 5pm on weekdays, and email goes to [email protected].

Starlight Beds FAQs

Can a Starlight Beds mattress go back once the plastic is off?

Only if it is faulty. Breaking the hygiene seal means the mattress counts as used, so the seal must stay unbroken for a change-of-mind return.

Does Starlight Beds make cot mattresses?

Yes. Its Starlight Babies cot mattresses were added in 2024, and the shop sells children's mattresses alongside its adult models.

Are Starlight Beds mattresses made in the UK?

Yes. Starlight Beds manufactures them in Ossett, West Yorkshire, at Royds Mill, and its store listing describes them as handmade to order.

Does Starlight Beds offer European mattress sizes?

Yes. European sizes are made alongside the UK ones, with the largest a king measuring 160 by 200 cm. UK sizes start at a 2ft6 shorty.

How long does Starlight Beds take to deliver?

Free UK delivery takes 3 to 7 days. Heavier parcels of 32 to 35 kg go at £15 in 2 to 4 days. Isle of Man orders can take up to 17 days.
