Crocus Vanguard 8 Bulbs, Purple

Crocus 'Vanguard' produces delicate silvery-lilac flowers in early spring, adding a soft splash of colour to the garden. The jewel-like blooms appear above compact foliage and provide an early source of nectar for pollinating insects. These hardy Crocus bulbs are particularly effective when planted in generous groups, creating carpets of colour beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. Their gentle colouring works beautifully alongside Snowdrops and other spring-flowering bulbs. With their compact habit, Crocus 'Vanguard' are also ideal for spring window boxes, patio containers, rockeries and the front of borders. Once established, these reliable bulbs can return year after year. How to Grow Grow Crocus 'Vanguard' in any well-drained garden soil in full sun or semi shade. Plant spring-flowering Crocus bulbs during autumn in large clumps at a depth of approximately 10cm (4") and space them around 7cm (3") apart. Alternatively, grow the bulbs in containers or naturalise them in grass. After flowering, allow the strap-like foliage to die back naturally. If Crocus are naturalised in grass, avoid mowing the area until the foliage has completely died back. Height: 10cm (4"). Spread: 5cm (2").
