Thompson And Morgan Allium Schubertii 12 Bulbs Inc:, Purple

Allium schubertii produces distinctive, architectural flower heads that make an eye-catching addition to summer borders. Each large, rounded flower head is made up of up to 200 small pink florets, creating a striking display with a unique, sculptural appearance. These unusual blooms are excellent for cutting and make an attractive addition to flower arrangements. If left on the plant, the flowers develop into decorative seed heads that provide additional interest into autumn. Allium schubertii is easy to grow and works particularly well when planted among other summer-flowering perennials. It can also be grown in containers where its unusual flower heads can be enjoyed up close. How to Grow Plant Allium schubertii bulbs in well-drained soil in full sun. Dig a hole approximately three times the depth of the bulb and place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. Cover with soil and water well after planting. Allow the soil to dry slightly between watering and avoid waterlogged conditions, as this can cause the bulbs to rot. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it. The dried flower heads can be left in place to provide autumn interest or cut for flower arrangements. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 20cm (8").
