9 1 2 Block Plane

The Stanley 9 1/2 Block Plane is a precision woodworking tool designed for fine finishing work and end grain planing. Constructed from fine grey iron with precision machining throughout, this fully adjustable block plane offers professional-level control for detailed carpentry and joinery tasks. The plane features comprehensive adjustment capabilities, allowing you to fine-tune the depth of cut, cutter alignment and mouth opening to suit different materials and grain types. This versatility makes it particularly effective for end grain work, where a shallow cutting angle and precise control are essential for clean results without tearout. At the heart of the tool is a 40mm wide precision carbon alloy steel blade set at a 21-degree cutting angle, providing an optimal balance between cutting efficiency and control. The compact 6¼ inch length makes it ideal for one-handed operation and working in confined spaces, whilst the adjustable mouth allows you to switch between fine finishing cuts and heavier stock removal as required. The plane includes a storage pouch for convenient protection and transportation, keeping the blade sharp and the tool safe between jobs.
