Smoothing Plane AK6093

The Sealey Smoothing Plane is a precision hand tool designed for fine finishing work on timber surfaces. Built around a machined cast iron body, this 250mm smoothing plane delivers the weight and stability needed for accurate planing of hardwoods and softwoods alike. The hardened carbon steel blade measures 50mm in width, offering excellent edge retention for extended use between sharpenings. A brass nut provides precise depth adjustment, whilst a lateral adjustment lever allows fine-tuning of the blade angle to achieve perfectly even cuts across the workpiece. Comfort during prolonged use is ensured by the traditional wooden handle and front knob, which provide secure grip and control. The chrome plated pressure plate adds durability and smooth material contact. Weighing 1.80kg, this plane offers the heft required for effective stock removal and surface finishing on furniture making, joinery, and carpentry projects.
