Photinia Red Robin 1 x ½ Standard Tree

Bright red new leaves in spring Leaves turn green as they mature Available as bush form and trained as both bush and shaped standards Makes a superb focal point in a container or border Photinia ‘Red Robin’ is a much-loved evergreen shrub, admired for its vibrant seasonal colour and year-round appeal. In spring, it produces a striking flush of bright red young leaves that create a bold contrast against the older, glossy green foliage. As the season progresses, these fiery red shoots gradually mature to deep green, before another fresh burst of red growth appears after trimming in summer. This cycle of colour ensures the plant looks attractive for many months of the year. Ideal for hedging, screening, or as a specimen shrub, Photinia ‘Red Robin’ is highly versatile and easy to maintain. Regular pruning not only helps to keep it in shape but also encourages new growth, extending the display of vivid red foliage well into the growing season. Thriving in most well-drained soils and enjoying a sunny or partially shaded position, this hardy evergreen is a reliable choice for UK gardens. Once established, it is drought tolerant, low-maintenance, and resistant to many common pests and diseases. Perfect for adding structure, colour, and privacy, Photinia ‘Red Robin’ remains one of the best evergreen shrubs for creating an eye-catching garden feature or hedge.
