4X Groove Long Flat Wood Drill Bit 12mm 400mm

The Irwin Blue Groove 4X Long Flat Bit in 12mm x 400mm delivers excellent performance for medium-duty drilling applications in timber construction and joinery. This diameter is particularly well-suited for creating holes for M12 bolts, medium-sized cable runs, pipework penetrations, and structural fixings through deep timber members. Featuring the innovative Blue Groove technology with its patented groove point, this 12mm bit cuts efficiently through timber rather than scraping, achieving speeds up to 4 times faster than conventional flat bits. The extended 400mm shank length provides the reach necessary for drilling through multiple joists, deep wall cavities, and other challenging locations. The parabolic scoop design ensures optimal chip removal, preventing clogging and maintaining clean, accurate holes throughout the drilling process. Engineered with a 10% larger diameter shank for superior strength and an improved 17° relief angle for smoother cutting action, this bit meets the demanding requirements of professional tradespeople whilst delivering consistent, reliable results.
