Plumbs
Plumbs is a Lancashire family business that makes sofa covers, reupholsters furniture and supplies made-to-measure curtains, blinds and shutters. It began on a market stall in 1953 and is still run by the founding family. It suits homeowners who like their sofa's shape but not its fabric, and anyone who wants windows dressed without measuring up themselves.

About Plumbs
Covers, upholstery and windows
Made-to-measure sofa covers are the core product. Each one is cut to fit your existing sofa, so a tired suite gets a new look without being replaced. When the frame is sound but the padding has gone, reupholstery is the better route. The sofa or armchair is stripped back and rebuilt with new springs, padding and fabric. The window side covers curtains, blinds and shutters, with a choice of headings and linings. More than 800 fabrics are available.
How buying works
A local consultant comes to your home free of charge, with no obligation to buy. Consultants reach 98% of UK households and bring fabric samples, advice and accurate measurements. A quote follows, and if you go ahead the finished pieces are fitted for you at no extra cost. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal, and interest-free credit is offered.
Guarantee and extras
Made-to-measure covers carry a five-year quality guarantee. NHS staff can get a discount through Blue Light Discount, and armed forces members through Troopscout. Recovering or reupholstering a sofa also means less furniture thrown away. The business trades as Sarah Plumb Ltd and is based in Lancashire.
Sustainability at Plumbs
Extends furniture lifespan through covers and reupholstery, reducing waste from furniture disposal.
