Outin
Outin makes battery-powered espresso machines small enough for a rucksack, and sells them through its own website. The idea is simple: a proper espresso shot without a kitchen or a plug socket. Machines accept either ground coffee or capsules, and the shop adds accessories such as a titanium cup. It suits campers, hikers, frequent travellers and anyone who wants decent coffee away from home.

About Outin
What the machines do
Outin's espresso makers build 20 bar of pressure, enough for a crema-topped shot. Popular models weigh around 670g and run on rechargeable batteries, quoted at 3 x 2500mAh, so several shots are possible per charge. You can use your own ground coffee or switch to capsules. The Outin Nano is a newer addition to the line.
Accessories
The Titanium Coffee Cup is light and designed not to taint the taste of the coffee. Accessories follow the same carry-anywhere approach as the machines, so the whole kit packs down small.
Who it suits and what to check
- Campers, hikers and travellers who carry their own kit
- Anyone who wants espresso away from a kitchen
- People who want one machine for both grounds and capsules
