About Niwaki
Tools for cutting and digging
Secateurs are the best-known line, joined by pruning shears, saws and bonsai tools for detailed shaping. The Hori Hori is a Japanese digging knife used for weeding and planting. Sharpening stones keep the edges keen, and the range also includes watering cans and stable, lightweight tripod ladders for reaching higher branches.
Looking after Japanese steel
Japanese steel holds a sharp edge but rewards a little care. Clean tools after use, dry them well and wipe on a light coat of oil to stop rust. Regular work on a sharpening stone keeps blades cutting cleanly, and many tools arrive with their own care instructions.
