Mictic One
Mictic One is a wearable music gadget from Mictic AG, a start-up based in Zurich, Switzerland. It turns body movements into sound, so a flick of the wrist can trigger a beat or a melody. There are no screens or headsets involved, and no musical training is needed. It suits curious tech fans, people after a playful creative outlet, and families looking for something different to do together.
About Mictic One
How it works
Mictic calls the idea audio augmented reality. The device uses patented spatial sound mapping to read how you move and convert it into notes, rhythms and effects in real time. You stay aware of the room around you, because nothing covers your eyes. Musical styles on offer span jazz, classical, EDM, hip-hop and rock.
Who it suits
Because there is no instrument to learn, beginners can start making music straight away. Creative types may enjoy it as a way to improvise, and testimonials on the Mictic site compare the experience to meditation. Parents may find it a fresh activity to share with children.
