Maplin
Maplin is an online electronics shop carrying on a name British hobbyists have known since 1972. The current site relaunched in 2019 under Digital-First Retail Limited and trades online only. It stocks the everyday bits that keep gadgets running, such as batteries, leads and chargers. Audio kit, cameras, smart home gear and parts for electronics projects sit alongside.

The range is broad but practical. Batteries come in alkaline, rechargeable and lithium types. Cables and adapters cover USB-C, HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA. Computing shoppers will find chargers, power banks, webcams, routers and range extenders.
Away from the desk, there are headphones, speakers, microphones and PA systems, plus cameras and camcorders. For the home, Maplin sells smart bulbs and plugs, indoor and outdoor lighting, solar charging kits, security cameras and alarms.
For makers and tinkerers
The components and maker section is where the older Maplin reputation shows. It holds copper wire, connectors, motors, switches and other electro-mechanical parts for repairs and home builds.

Maplin FAQs
Does Maplin still have shops?
No. Since its 2019 relaunch Maplin trades online only, so there are no stores to visit or collect from. Orders are delivered to UK addresses.
How much does Maplin charge for delivery?
Delivery is free on UK orders over £35. Below that a charge applies, and the cost and timescale for standard or expedited service are shown at checkout.
Can I send back something I don't need?
Usually yes, within 14 to 30 days, as long as it is unused and in its original packaging. Faulty products are handled differently, so check the returns page first.
Does Maplin deliver outside the UK?
No. Maplin does not offer international shipping, so every order needs a UK delivery address.
Who can get a Maplin discount?
Students can verify through gocertify or TOTUM. There are also discounts for NHS and Blue Light workers and for military personnel.
