About Lets Buy Books

Finding the right shelf

Children's titles are split into age bands, from babies up to 12-year-olds. Parents can go straight to picture books, phonics readers or early chapter books. Adults can browse crime, romance, fantasy, science fiction, horror, historical stories and the classics. True crime, cookery, biography, politics, self-help and business fill the non-fiction side. Teen readers get their own young adult shelves. For school, there are revision guides for the 11+, both primary key stages, A-Level and GCSE.

Where the books come from

Every title is new, says the FAQ, sourced from British publishers, wholesalers and distributors. Overstock and promotional editions make up much of it, which is why so many box sets bring an author's or a series' books together. The homepage claims more than a million books have been rehomed through the site. Shoppers can also filter by price, starting with books below £5, or browse a gifts section. Book Points, a loyalty scheme, is worth 10 points for each £1.

Before you order

Only UK addresses are served. Standard postage is free above £35, and the homepage prices next-day delivery for those baskets at £3.99. Books can be sent back within a 14-day window after delivery, in the state they arrived. The shopper must show proof of purchase. Once a return reaches Leicester, the refund is processed inside 7 working days. Banks may need up to 10 working days beyond that to show it. Anything damaged or sent in error needs reporting by email inside 7 days of arrival. The shop then replaces it or refunds in full, return postage included.
