Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
This online shop raises money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, the charity whose dogs are trained to respond to everyday sounds for their deaf owners. It mixes cards and presents with practical supplies for people with hearing loss, such as batteries for hearing aids and ear protection. The shop says each purchase helps deaf people, which gives routine card buying a second purpose.

About Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
What's on the shelves
For presents, look at the puzzles, cuddly toys and games, the bags and writing supplies, garden and homeware items, and gifts for people with pets. Greetings cards and Christmas cards are a big part of the shop. An exclusive line, Unique to Hearing Dogs, turns named dogs such as Luna and Jaxon into keyring toys and jigsaws.
For people living with hearing loss there are batteries and care kits for hearing aids, plugs to protect the ears, accessible face coverings and assistive gadgets. Lanyards holding communication cards, plus badges and magnetic signs, let wearers show others that they are deaf.
Ordering and sending back
Parcels can only go to UK or BFPO addresses. Spend under £40 and postage is £4.50; spend more and it is free. Order before the 2pm cut-off on a working day and it leaves the same day, or a day later after that. Allow 3 to 5 working days for arrival.
You have 14 days to return goods, provided they are in good shape, and you can choose between money back and a replacement. Postage back is at your cost and the parcel is your responsibility in transit, so paying for insured delivery is sensible. Faulty items are handled differently: contact the shop first for instructions.
About the charity
Lady Beatrice Wright and vet Bruce Fogle set the charity up in 1982. Its home is The Grange at Saunderton in Buckinghamshire, and its Royal Patron is the Princess Royal.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People FAQs
When will my Hearing Dogs shop order be sent?
If you order by 2pm on a working day, it leaves that day; later orders go the next working day. Expect it 3 to 5 working days after dispatch.
Is there anything to help me tell people I am deaf?
Yes. Lanyards with communication cards, pin badges and magnetic signs are sold for exactly that purpose.
What if an item from the shop arrives faulty?
Contact the shop first and wait for instructions rather than posting it straight back. Phone 01844 348188 on weekdays between 10am and 3pm, or email [email protected].
Does the charity shop charge for delivery?
Only on smaller orders. Anything under £40 costs £4.50 to send, and postage is free above that.
