About HART

HART is a jewellery brand that Hart Hagerty, a seventh-generation Charlestonian, started in 2016 in Charleston, South Carolina. She runs it with her sister and business partner Curry from a design studio on King Street, and the brand has six stores in five US cities. Its web store shows UK shoppers prices in pounds.

What HART sells

  • Custom charm jewellery put together with an online charm builder, plus engraving and initial charms
  • Charms and talismans sorted by size, from Teeny to Large, and by intention, such as love, luck and protection, or motherhood
  • Cord necklaces, lariat chains with two built-in clips, charm clips and gemstone necklaces
  • Pearl and tennis necklaces, earrings, charm candles and holiday ornaments

According to the brand's help centre, its charms are brass plated with recycled gold to a thickness of 80 mils, which HART calls four times the industry standard, and it skips the clear lacquer e-coat many makers use. The gold-filled chains are made in the USA, the charms are handmade in Thailand and India, and final assembly happens in Charleston.

Delivery and returns

UK shipping is priced at checkout, and HART's cart shows UK visitors free shipping on orders over £200. Custom pieces need 5 to 7 business days of assembly before dispatch, and faster assembly and shipping can be bought at checkout. On US orders, economy shipping is free from $200.

UK and other international orders cannot be returned or exchanged, so sizes and charm choices are worth checking before ordering. US customers may return or exchange unworn, full-price items within 14 days of receipt, paying their own return postage unless the item is defective, and US returns of custom-made pieces carry a $25 fee. Structural repairs are covered for three months after purchase, and plating faults are assessed within six months.

HART FAQs

How much is HART delivery to the UK?

HART prices UK shipping at checkout rather than publishing a flat rate, and its cart shows free shipping on UK orders over £200. Custom pieces add 5 to 7 business days of assembly before dispatch.

Can UK customers return HART jewellery?

No. HART does not accept returns or exchanges on international orders, and UK orders count as international. US customers can return or exchange unworn, full-price items within 14 days of receipt, and HART sends a label for defective items.

How long does a custom HART charm necklace take?

Assembly takes 5 to 7 business days in HART's downtown Charleston studio, plus shipping time. Expedited assembly and shipping can be paid for at checkout, and a note at checkout can ask for a photo of the charm placement before dispatch.

What is HART jewellery made of?

HART's charms are brass plated with recycled gold to 80 mils, which the brand says is four times the industry standard. Its gold-filled chains are made in the USA, and its gold jewellery is nickel and lead free.

Who founded HART and where is it based?

Hart Hagerty founded HART in 2016 and runs it with her sister Curry from a King Street design studio in Charleston, South Carolina. The brand has six stores: two in Charleston and one each in Dallas, Nantucket, Nashville and New York.

How can shoppers contact HART customer service?

HART's help centre lists [email protected], live chat and a voicemail line on +1 854 333 7670. The team replies Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern Time.
