Genevieve Sweeney

Genevieve Sweeney is a Hertfordshire knitwear label making jumpers, cardigans, socks and accessories, all in Britain. Its namesake set up her own label in 2015 after designing for Hugo Boss, Burberry and Rag & Bone. Some of the range now comes off machines in her own studio. It suits buyers who care where a jumper was made and want pieces that can be mended.

About Genevieve Sweeney

What's in the collection

Women's knitwear covers cardigans, sweaters, knitted vests and T-shirts, plus dresses and skirts, in lambswool, cashmere and tweed. Men's pieces include sweaters, vests and a brushed wool line. Socks get their own section, in cotton, wool, alpaca, walking and sparkly styles, with gift boxes and a sock subscription. Accessories include gloves, beanies, triangle and oversized scarves, pieces for children and care products for wool. For presents, there are gift cards, and knitwear can be monogrammed.

Made in Britain, and mended too

About 40% of the knitwear comes from a micro-factory the brand opened in 2025 at Grandey's Place, near Much Hadham. It runs a computerised flat-knitting machine beside restored vintage Dubied machines. The remainder is made by specialist knitters and mills in Oxfordshire, Leicester, Derbyshire and Scotland. Most of the yarn is spun in Yorkshire and Scottish mills. The studio will darn its own pieces when an elbow wears thin, a snag appears or a small hole opens. Moth damage is beyond repair there.

Before you order

UK orders over £80 go free by Royal Mail 48 Tracked. Next-day Special Guaranteed costs £7 if ordered by 1pm. DHL Express in 1 to 2 working days is £10 when ordered by 11am, and free over £200. Monogramming adds a day. FedEx carries orders abroad, from Europe and North America to New Zealand, Australia and further afield. Import charges are included at checkout. A return or exchange needs to be agreed with the studio inside 14 days of delivery. Socks must be unworn and still labelled, and monogrammed items are refundable only if faulty.

Genevieve Sweeney FAQs

Can Genevieve Sweeney mend a jumper bought from the brand?

Yes. The studio repairs snags, small holes and worn elbows on its own knitwear, often with Swiss darning. Moth damage is the exception. A photo sent to [email protected] brings options and a price.

What does Genevieve Sweeney charge to send knitwear to Europe?

Orders to Europe or North America go by FedEx: £15 for 5 to 10 days, or £20 for 2 to 3 days. Import duties and taxes are collected at checkout rather than on delivery.

Can a Genevieve Sweeney return become store credit?

Yes. Besides a refund, the brand offers an exchange or store credit valid for a year. The request has to be made inside 14 days of receipt, and the buyer covers the postage.

Can shoppers visit the Genevieve Sweeney studio?

Yes, by appointment. Studio visits and FaceTime styling sessions are booked by emailing [email protected]. Phone the studio near Much Hadham on +44 (0) 1279 927 015.
