About Early Rider

Bikes by age and stage

Toddlers from 6 months to 4 years begin on balance bikes such as the Charger 12, Super Velio, Big Foot 12 and Bella Velio. These help small children learn steering and balance before they ever need pedals.

From around 3 to 11, the geared range takes over. The Belter is the all-rounder, the Seeker suits adventure and trail riding, and the Hellion X is the performance choice. Wheel sizes run from 14 to 24 inches. Parents comparing brands will spot features normally kept for adult bikes, such as belt drives and hydraulic disc brakes.

Kit beyond the bike

Helmets, grips, pedals and spare parts sit alongside the bikes. There is also children's riding clothing, including pieces from Patagonia, so a new rider can be kitted out in one order.

Before you order

Parcels travel by tracked courier within the UK and to a handful of countries abroad, such as Canada, Australia and the United States. The delivery charge is worked out at checkout. Unused items can usually go back within 30 days, though the full policy on the Early Rider site sets the conditions. Gift cards are sold for birthdays and Christmas. Shopperazzi shows the current Early Rider range and delivery notes on this page, which helps when sizing up a first bike.
