CoffeeB

CoffeeB brews single cups from Coffee Balls: rounds of ground coffee bound by a plant-based skin, with no capsule at all. The UK and Ireland shop sells the Cosmos machine, the balls in several blends, starter bundles and a repeat-delivery plan. It suits anyone who likes pod-style convenience but would rather not bin aluminium or plastic capsules.

About CoffeeB

How the system works

Swiss firm Delica, part of the Migros Group, developed the idea, and shoppers in Switzerland and Germany have been buying it since 2022. Each portion is compressed coffee sealed in a coating made from plants. Spent balls can go in a home compost or out with food waste, according to the brand, and the packaging is FSC-certified. The Cosmos machine brews at 19 bar, says CoffeeB, and turns itself off after a minute left idle. Co-founders Steven Phelps, its chief executive, and James Newitt lead the UK and Ireland business.

What to buy

  • The Cosmos machine on its own, or in bundles such as the Founders Bundle with 90 Coffee Balls
  • Coffee Balls in a choice of blends, in boxes of nine or bigger multi-packs
  • Accessories
  • A subscription sent every one, two or three months, which can be skipped, paused or stopped

Postage and sending things back

Parcels leave a UK warehouse, usually within 72 hours, and every UK delivery is free by Royal Mail 48hr. Large orders come by courier and need signing for. Irish addresses are covered too. Changed your mind straight away? A cancellation email to [email protected] must arrive within 8 hours of the order. Later returns go through that address; goods must be unused and complete, in the original box with any gifts that came with them. Unless an item is faulty or wrong, the buyer covers return postage. Money comes back within 14 calendar days of the warehouse receiving the parcel.

Sustainability at CoffeeB

CoffeeB says its packaging is FSC-certified and that its Coffee Balls, coated in a plant-based layer instead of a pod, can be home-composted or put in food-waste collections.

CoffeeB FAQs

Do CoffeeB machines need capsules?

No. The Cosmos brews from Coffee Balls, which are pressed ground coffee wrapped in a plant-based coating rather than a pod. CoffeeB says spent ones can be composted at home or put out with food waste.

Does CoffeeB charge for postage within the UK?

No. Every UK order ships free by Royal Mail 48hr from a UK warehouse, normally within 72 hours. Bigger orders travel by courier and must be signed for.

Can a CoffeeB order be cancelled?

Yes, if you act quickly. UK buyers get an 8-hour window after ordering: send an email to [email protected] to cancel. After that, the same address handles returns of unused, complete items in their original box.

How do returns work for CoffeeB customers in Ireland?

Buyers in the Republic of Ireland have 14 days after delivery to ask. They should first get an RMA (return authorisation) number by emailing [email protected], then send the item back.

How often does a CoffeeB subscription arrive?

Every one, two or three months, as chosen at sign-up. UK shipping is free, and any delivery can be skipped or paused, or the plan cancelled, whenever needed.
