According to the COAT FAQ, one litre covers roughly 10 square metres, is touch dry in an hour and can be recoated after 2 to 4 hours. The brand says it can match most premium colours from other brands to at least 95% accuracy, and that its paints are low-VOC, vegan, A+ rated for indoor air quality and tested to the EN71-3 toy-safety standard.
Delivery and returns
Standard UK delivery of paint and supplies takes 2 to 3 working days and is free on orders over £100; below that it costs £5.95. Next working day delivery costs £7.95, and same-day delivery is available in the London region for orders placed before 12pm. The FAQ says orders placed before 2pm leave the same day, seven days a week. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands and the Scilly Isles take 3 to 5 working days, and P.O. boxes are excluded. Samples and colour charts travel separately by Amazon Shipping for £1.99, or £2.99 tracked.
Retail customers can start a return through the online portal within 30 days of ordering. Tins must be unopened in their original packaging, a £7.95 return and restocking fee applies, and the original delivery charge is not refunded. Custom colour matches and orders placed on trade pricing cannot be returned, while damaged orders are refunded or replaced at no extra charge.
For leftover paint, COAT runs a take-back service: for £15 it collects unused COAT product from any UK address and recycles both the contents and the tin.
